  • Handled the Post Contract Phase of Bandaranaike International Airport Development Project (BIADP) Phase II, Stage I, Package B1 - Passenger Terminal Equipment (Year 2000 to 2005).
  • Coordination of BIADP Phase II, stage I, Package B1 – Installation of Passenger Terminal Equipment with Japan Airport Consultants (JAC) and the Main Contractor TAISEI-MITSUBISHI Joint Venture (TMJV).
  • Installation, Testing & Commissioning and Taking over of Passenger Terminal Equipment installed under the BIADP Phase II, Stage I.
  • Operation & Maintenance, Frequent review of systems performance during Defects Liability Period (DLP), Introducing Safety Standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Passenger Terminal Equipment according to the rules and regulations established by ICAO and Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
  • Release of instructions to the main contractor and sub contractors for initiation of necessary rectifications and alternative solutions for identified minor, major defects and performance reductions of equipment systems during the DLP and the manufacturer's design warranty period.
  • Final Acceptance Certification (FAC) of Passenger Terminal Equipment after the DLP.
  • Introducing cost effective long-term maintenance plans by selecting the most suitable option from in-house or outsourcing in order to manage the operation of each and every equipment systems reliably and safely.
  • Development of a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance scheme for the Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridges installed under the above project and it was highly acclaimed by the principal manufacturer.
  • After a detailed evaluation, a decision has been made for conversion of existing pneumatic tyres of Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridges with Solid tyres due to better maneuverability, stability, durability and other cost effective benefits.
  • A comprehensive proposal submitted to the company management and obtained their approval for complete refurbishment of Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridge system in order to manage the wear-out phase failure rates and extend the equipment lifespan for another 10 to 15 years.
  • Identifying manufacturing defects of main drive motors of the Elevator system installed under the above project, Root Cause Analysis and actions for claiming the same on a FOC basis from the principal manufacturer.


During the tenure at Loadstar Private Limited - Jinasena Group of Companies from the year 1995 to 2000.


  • Design, Fabrication, Installation & Commissioning, Research & Development works on Bag-O-Matic type tyre curing press machines of more than 200 units for the tyre plant at Midigama, Sri Lanka during the year 1998 to 2000.
  • Development of an automated tyre remover and other ancillary services equipment for the above system.
  • Performance evaluation, establishment of a condition monitoring plan and development of a Preventive Maintenance plan for the said system and handing over to the Maintenance Department.
