Summary

My skills, which I have picked up while working in various sales roles, have given me a good understanding of what it takes to be a good salesperson. I understand that effective communication, customer relationships, and good pipeline management can be the keys to success in sales. Alongside constantly meeting KPIs, these skills, and my work ethic have given me good results in my previous jobs, and I wish to implement these in my future roles to continue to succeed in sales and bring value to my employer.

  • Being a part of the marketing team for a publicly listed, global company was a very interesting first corporate job out of university. Not to mention, this job was for a bio-tech company in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdowns.
  • One of my roles consisted of a monthly digital publication that would be shared with our tens of thousands of shareholders, as an update on how we were navigating Covid, as it was an insanely busy time for us.
  • Social media and Google Ads were also my responsibility, and I learned quickly that companies like ours during that time were on a very tight leash in terms of what we could advertise, which made for some creative campaigns.

  • Williams Corporation is the second-largest property developer in New Zealand, producing hundreds of homes per year, as well as operating an investor fund open to the public.
  • My role consisted of calling all of my new leads, either qualifying them and moving them through the pipeline, or making notes that they weren't ready and setting reminders to follow up.
  • Once qualified, the goal is to move them through the pipeline, which includes putting them in touch with mortgage brokers, talking them through the buying process, and taking viewings at our show homes. The role is fast-paced, and I often have to work after hours and on weekends to accommodate my clients.
  • My pipeline in our CRM system had to have between 150 and 200 active deals, and our weekly KPIs were at least 200 calls, accompanied by 200 follow-up emails, and 8 meetings.

  • My role at Auto Trader was to manage current accounts, ensuring they were happy with our service, while looking for up-sell opportunities. As well as outbound lead prospecting.
  • My week consisted of about half in the office and half on the road, taking new business meetings and visiting current accounts.
  • Selling advertising to car dealerships was always a tough sell, as dealerships are notoriously frugal with extra costs. Due to this, I was given autonomy to negotiate special rates and trial period discounts, which I feel really helped my negotiation skills.
  • Working for a company with only two employees and two owners benefited me, as my role was very diverse, from prospecting to closing and everything in between. I feel like this has really given me exceptional experience along the whole sales pipeline.

  • After a few years of working in New Zealand, I decided to make the big move to London, but with a few stops along the way.
  • Asia, Europe, Northern Africa, and Canada were the stops, spending the most time in Canada, where I settled down for the ski season.
  • Although traveling and living in different places over the past year or so has been incredible, it's time to get back into the corporate world and pick up where I've left off.
