GIS and Remote Sensing Climate Analysis and find the prediction
Currently I serve as a Senior Geologist /Hydrogeologist/ GIS and Remote Sensing Technician in the National Water Supplies and Drainage Board, counting over 10 years of experience in this field. Some of the key responsibilities include carrying out technical appraisals, monitoring and evaluation of water resources. Further conducting ground water investigation for drinking water, irrigation and over all water resources development.
My previous position of Geologist with the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) was for over 6 years.
Responsibilities in this position closely related to disaster management and therefore, investigations pertaining to hydro geological hazard, mapping and risk assessment of flood vulnerable areas using Geographical Information System (GIS) were done. My work experience includes designing of early warning system and research work related to landslide induced flood forecast.
My overseas work experience includes the period I served as Visiting Researcher in the Asian Disaster Reduction Centre, Kobe, Japan, under the supervision of Professor Hiroshi Fukoka , at the Research Centre for landslides,
The Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University in 2010.The specific area of study was slope mitigation structures and anchoring systems. Besides my professional experience, my academic achievements include a Master of Science ( MSc in Disaster Management ) which is a joint program awarded by Post Graduate Institute of Science(PGIS), University of Peradeniya and
University of Politecnicaat Ancona, Italy. Also, I hold a B.Sc. (Special Degree in Geology), and the National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (N.D.E.S. ) Also, I was awarded the title Chartered Geologist by the Institute of Geologists, Sri Lanka.

· Geophysical investigation to explore groundwater resources and aquifer conditions in drought prone North and East part of the country.
· Pumping test analysis and recommendations to implement in groundwater based rural water supply schemes in Northern part of the country.
