Quay Gantry Crane Operator (level 3 G3)

2018 to present

· Operates Shore-to-Ship Gantry Cranes for discharge and loading of deep-sea mother vessels and feeder vessels in the terminal within given safety and operational policies and procedures in the most efficient way.

· Following safe procedures to ensure all work procedures and safety codes are followed to prevent injury to all personnel and damage to equipment.

· Conducts regularly pre and post inspections of the Quay Crane and make sure that all abnormalities are reported to the Engineering team and relevant parties.

· Maintain continuous operation by using "hot seat" changeover at shift changeover.

· Report immediately any damage sustained by the vessel, Quay Crane, container and/or any other equipment during operations.

· Maintain the operator's cabin and lifts in a clean and tidy condition at all times.

· Achieve operational efficiencies within the parameters of the equipment's capacity for terminal targets.

· Ensure lashing/unlashing work is carried out to job requirement and vessel’s satisfaction.

· Direct crane operator to discharge or load containers from/to specific locations on the ship.

· Liaise with operations supervisors of progress/problems during operations. Lead the lashing crew regarding proper lashing method.

· Keep records of damage containers, EQ breakdowns and vessel damages. Making relevant system updates using RDT [radio data terminal.

· Coordinating with vessel chief officer regarding relevant loading changes.

· Prefer vessel bay plans and direct the moves to relevant slots.
