• Throughout primary school, I consistently won the subject prize for English Language and all its components.
• For excelling in my studies, I was consistently presented with the General Proficiency Award from Grade 1 to 5, and granted a double promotion from Grade 3 to 5.
• During my secondary education, I received awards for Creative Writing and Dictation.
• I was also elected President of the English Literary Union for the years 2014 / 2015 by my school peers and teachers. My team and I organized Spelling Bees and writing / poetry / dictation / penmanship competitions, and personally assisted with English Days and other ceremonies held by the school.
• I was also given the opportunity to perform the part of the narrator in one of our school plays, Merlin.
• Until our school employed a librarian, I functioned as an assistant librarian to support the teacher-in-charge. I was involved in library duties whenever I could spare time from my class schedule, and took great pleasure in organizing and coding books, tidying the library, handling the borrowing and returning of books, etc.
• I emerged as a winner in my age category, 15–16 years, for an essay competition featuring President Dwight Eisenhower held by the American Centre.
• I joined a Writer’s Lab, hosted by Fulbright Commission, which exposed me to different genres and styles of writing.
• I studied for and received above-average results for SAT (English & Maths) and SAT 2: Subject Test (Literature), held in May and October 2018 respectively. My total score for SAT amounted to 1260 out of 1600, and 710 out of 800 for SAT 2: Subject Test.
• While reading for my current BA (English) degree, I tutored a group of my sister's schoolmates for English Literature.
